Dead Thoughts...

Oh! Son of the hell, rise above the flames.

The dead and decaying world, seduces you.

Close your eyes and open your heart.

The signs are numerous, only the desire is dwindling.

Come my heart, lets fly in the vast spaces of love,

how much of this burning?

The burning,has made you stone,

let you embrace love only then the lust will die...

At the midnight,in my closet,

i m sleeping with my dead heart,

to awake,when it resurrects.

The Right Wolf

I have always examined myself and most of the times I fail in this examination.Like Plato said "Living life unexamined is not worth living".In these moments of contemplation this short story inspires me and will inspire the reader as well...

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.
“One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
“The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

In case if you are a kashmiri reading this post and are lost in the melodrama of this world...I would recommend you to listen to the kashmiri sufiyaana music especially by Ghulam Mohammad Saaznawaz. He is the master of this dying art...I have a link of one of his masterpiece...I felt infinite peace listening to it...

Sounds from Roots

Winter resides in my veins,

oh kashmir! my blood runs wilder,

The kangri resurrects the dead,

The pheran, merges me in ur colors,

I feel among lovers..

Your chill makes me see my breath,

wid u i hav no reason to fret..

i recollect pieces of shadows,

to approach ur meadows..

Let me,be back to ur soul,

As i am lost in scorching summer..

what is patriotism to a kashmiri?

I am an introvert.I see more and talk less.I observe and experience more.I am sensitive to my surroundings, people, society etc.
SO,this is my first post as a blogger.Anyway, today is or was Independence day of india.so i was supposed to celebrate this day, being a kashmiri studying outside state.todays day was of mixed emotions.I came to know, that we people have distanced ourself from our roots.
in our lives we experience different emotions, but one emotion which i found alien to myself is the feeling of patriotism.....what is patriotism to  a kashmiri?
the answer does not lie in the pages of history,it lies in the hearts of people.
